What does brokenness do(Part 1)?
Brokenness break s the roofs over our lives!
Mark 2:1-12 is a beautiful story of a paralytic who received his miracle in a unusual way. When his friends heard that Jesus was in town teaching in a certain house in Capernaum, they immediately stretchered him to where Jesus was teaching. However, as the crowd was so big, there was no way they could reach Jesus. But a creative spark led them to climb up the stairs to the rooftop, and then break a hole above where Jesus was teaching below and lower their paralyzed friend (those days, the houses were made of mud). As the story goes, that man received his miracle, and became a witness for Jesus!
Roofs represent the human barriers to our breakthroughs.
Are you a lame Christian today? Just sitting down and being pitiful?
Are you the sort that your cell leader or shepherd must call you, and beg you “Pls come for cell/service”, or “Can I meet you for dinner?” and if that does not happen, you think “Nobody loves me, everyone hates me! Nobody cares for me. I feel left out”Perhaps you are lame today!” if you are lame today, god has a plan and destiny for you to break through your roof. God’s plan for the lame man was to be a witness for Him!
What are you living for today?
Are you living for the heavenly vision? Or are you just going through life and in circles? Is that what you are living for? For a good degree education, good paying job, good family, good car, good properties and then die and have nothing to bring to eternity?
Engraved on Leonard Ravenhill’s tombstone: “is what you are living for worth Christ dying for?”
Also in the words of Pst Pat Schatzline: “The cycle must be broken to get pregnant with a vision”-girls will understand this. In the natural, the menstrual cycle of a woman must stop before they can be pregnant with a baby. The sperm has to first penetrate the egg. In the same way, God has to first break us 1st off our seen and unseen layers of self, before He can effectively impreganate us with His vision for schools to be saved, for our nations to be saved.
Break the cycle, and be pregnant with a vision for your school, a burden for the nations.
