What brokenness is not
1.Brokenness is not human weakness
Brokenness is not human weakness. A form of human weakness is false humility, which essentially is denial of who you are in God. We were all given a new position in Christ when we gave our lives to Jesus, and one such example is that in all things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Rom 8:37). So when we constantly think that we are losers in life, or that God can’t use us, we are actually implying that Rom 8:37 is false. But the Lord desires to use us and let us be His champions in every situation!
2.Brokenness is not discouragement
Rather, it requires boldness. Discouragement happens when you do not see fruit in your dealings, whether it be a personal struggle to be overcomed or a prayer of salvation for someone who still has not been saved all these years. Symptoms include a downcast look, negativity, complaining, criticism, to name a few. But it takes a person who is bold to stare at the face of discouraging situations, and say to his mountains by faith: “Be removed!”, and it shall be done.
In the next blog post, we will look at what true brokenness is.
